Handmade soap & bath products
Let the colours and textures of your soap do the talking
Turn clear phone photos of soap bars, bath bombs and scrubs into a consistent catalogue. Add spa and gift settings for your next seasonal collection with Pro or Business.
3 free images. No card needed.
Your next launch needs photos, too
Swirls, textured tops and small differences between handmade batches are part of your work. Busy backdrops or inconsistent lighting can hide them. Photographing new bars, bath salts and gift ranges also takes time away from making, curing and packing orders.
Three ways StudioShot Pro helps
Show the bar clearly
Give each photographed soap a simple studio setting. Let its real colour, cut and surface texture stand out instead of competing with the background.
Build a bath-time mood
Use lifestyle scenes on Pro or Business for supporting spa-themed images. Show the actual product clearly, without suggesting that decorative ingredients come with it.
Prepare the seasonal range
Photograph each new bar or bath product and apply a shared backdrop. Batch editing on Pro or Business helps keep a larger launch consistent.
Why product images deserve attention
56%
Images were the first stop
In Baymard’s product-page usability testing, 56% of users first explored the product images. This is general ecommerce research, reported in April 2020, rather than a study of this product category or StudioShot Pro.
Customers cannot smell or touch the bar online. A sharp source photo and an uncluttered setting help them inspect the texture and packaging; your description still needs to explain scent, ingredients and weight.
+16%
US prestige body-care sales, H1 2026
Circana reported 16% growth in US prestige body-care retail dollar sales in the first half of 2026 versus 2025. This broader category includes body cleansers, lotions and deodorants; it is not a statistic for handmade soap or bath bombs alone.
The wider interest in body care provides context for your range. Use clear images to explain your own products, rather than treating category growth as a forecast for your shop.
These figures describe shopping behaviour and market context. They do not measure a sales increase from using StudioShot Pro.
From your phone to your shop
Capture the actual batch
Photograph a representative bar in soft daylight. Include the top and cut face in separate shots; shoot your actual wrapper or jar when packaging matters.
Choose clean or atmospheric
Use a studio backdrop for the product page. Choose a lifestyle scene on Pro or Business for bath-time content or a seasonal promotion.
Inspect colour and texture
Compare swirls, edges, toppings and packaging against the original. Download the JPG only after checking that the product still represents what you sell.
Choose a setting for each job
| Image purpose | Suggested setting | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Main soap listing | Plain studio backdrop | True colour and visible cut face |
| Bath-time social post | Spa-style lifestyle setting | Texture stays visible; props are decorative |
| Seasonal gift promotion | Gift setting | Actual quantities and packaging are clear |
| Bath-salt or scrub catalogue | Consistent studio background | Readable jar labels and correct contents |
Take a better original, get a better result
- Avoid wetting a soap just for shine if that changes how the item normally looks.
- Show batch variations honestly; do not smooth away distinctive handmade textures.
- Photograph bath-bomb edges and delicate toppings against a simple source background.
- For bundles, photograph the actual contents together. A scene change should not add extra bars, packaging or ingredient claims.
A styled scene creates atmosphere; it is not reliable proof of size. Include dimensions in your listing and use a real reference photo for scale. Take a separate source photo for every new angle or close-up, and review the finished image against the original before publishing.
Start small, build a consistent catalogue
Try 3 free images with no card. Starter covers clean studio backdrops and HD downloads. Choose Pro or Business for lifestyle scenes, batch editing and downloads up to 4K. Every plan allows commercial use and downloads without a watermark.
| Plan | Monthly price | Images per month | Included tools |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | €9 | 50 | Studio backdrops, background removal, HD |
| Pro | €24 | 300 | Studio + lifestyle scenes, batch editing, up to 4K |

Questions from makers
Can I show the texture of handmade soap?
Yes, if the original captures it clearly. Use soft side light and take a separate close-up. Review the finish so the edit has not smoothed or changed the actual surface.
Can I make spa-themed photos?
Lifestyle scenes are available on Pro and Business. Keep the product visible and treat towels, plants or other scene props as decoration, not items included in the sale.
Should I photograph every handmade batch?
Retake photos when colour, shape, toppings or packaging change enough to affect what the customer receives. Reusing a backdrop helps maintain consistency without hiding differences.
Can I create an image of a gift set?
Photograph the real set and its packaging as your source. Check the finished image still shows the right number of items, rather than relying on a generated setting to assemble the offer.
