eBay listing photo sizes
eBay requires every listing to have at least one photo of 500 px or more on the longest side, and recommends 1600 × 1600 px. You can add up to 24 photos to a listing, and the first one is the photo shown in search results.

How to resize photos for eBay
Add your photos
Drop in up to 30 photos: every side of the item, the labels and any wear.
Pick a size
Square for a tidy listing, or Original shape to keep each photo as you took it.
Add them to your listing
Download the photos and add them when you create or revise the listing. Put your best shot first: it's the one in search results.
Watch out for borders
eBay's picture policy doesn't allow photos with added borders, text or watermarks. That matters when you make a photo square: if the added space is a different colour from the background, it looks like a border.
So the resizer fills that space with your photo's own edge colour by default. On a plain background the join is invisible. On a busy or patterned background, use Fill to crop instead, or choose Original shape so nothing is added at all.
Tips for eBay listing photos
- Photograph the item on a plain white or neutral background, as eBay suggests. It also makes the added space in square photos seamless.
- Show every side, plus close-ups of labels, tags and any marks, wear or damage.
- Make the first photo your best: centred, with the whole item in view.
- Don't add text, logos or watermarks. eBay's picture policy doesn't allow them.
- Start from your phone's full-size photo. Anything smaller than 1600 px is enlarged and looks softer.
